Prepare to discuss the following at your breast augmentation consultation:
This information is asked to assure you are a candidate for surgery. After discussing your medical history, Dr. Shuster will ask you about your desired look. While most women who come for a consultation will request a natural appearing augmentation, others will express an interest for breasts which are on the larger or more modest side. Dr. Shuster will spend the time to help you select the size which is right for you.
You will have the opportunity to view a large portfolio of Dr. Shuster's breast enlargement results. This will help you visualize what your results will look like because you will see other women with body shapes similar to yours.
After determining your desired look, Dr. Shuster will ask if you have a preference for saline or silicone gel implants. You may have an idea already, and Dr. Shuster will communicate the advantages and limitations of each. If you are not sure, Dr. Shuster will detail the difference for you in order to help your decision.
Dr. Shuster will examine your breasts and how they relate to the rest of your body, the amount of tissue you have, and where your breasts are positioned on your chest wall. Your breasts will also be measured to complete an overall quantitative analysis.
From there, you will be shown a wide selection of implants to examine. Dr. Shuster carries implants in a variety of sizes and shapes, and you will have the opportunity to examine any that are of interest to you. Together, you will view each of them in a full length mirror, along with Dr. Shuster, to select the implants that are most proportional to your body and will achieve your desired result.
After selecting your implant type, Dr. Shuster will show you the incision location, what to expect, as well as describe the recovery process.
The breast augmentation consultation process is comprehensive, and you are encouraged to ask questions about the procedure. Dr. Shuster will take as much time as is needed to help you feel well informed about your breast augmentation procedure.
Following your consultation with Dr. Shuster, you will meet with his staff to discuss costs, learn about the scheduling process, and if appropriate, select a date for surgery. To find out if breast augmentation is right for you, feel welcome to schedule a consultation.
