Instructions for Out Of Town Patients

Traveling Patients For patients who are traveling from out of town to see Dr. Shuster, we will make every effort to accommodate you and make your experience as comfortable and gratifying as possible. Our office is conveniently located 15 minutes from Fort Lauderdale International Airport and 30 Minutes from Miami International Airport. We recommend that you call our office to find out about the availability of specific dates for your consultation or procedure. You can write to Dr. Shuster, email our office at admin@drshuster.net, or complete an on-line consultation request detailing the changes that you desire and include photographs of the areas of concern. It is most beneficial to send both front and side views as well as a back view when applicable. Also include whether or not you have any medical conditions and any medications, even vitamins or supplements, which you may be taking. Once these have been reviewed, Dr. Shuster will call you and discuss your situation with you personally.

You will receive detailed pre- and postoperative instructions from our office. Our office can also assist you with making local arrangements. If needed, there are several hotels in the area that are very comfortable for recovery and at which we have arrangements. One to two weeks before you arrival, our staff will contact you by phone to review pre- and postoperative instructions and to discuss your local arrangements. Alternatives for your recovery will be discussed and our office can make arrangements for private duty nurses if you desire.

Dr. Shuster prefers that patients arrive at least two days prior to surgery. This will give you the opportunity to meet with him personally and to make all final arrangements with our staff. You should allow sufficient time in South Florida for your recovery. Recovery time duration, of course, depends on the extent of surgery you have. In general, most patients are able to travel one week following surgery.
