Before the recent FDA ruling, Dr Bernard Shuster, as a lead investigator in the FDA’s study, could only offer these implants to patients who met strict level of criteria. This had prohibited most most women who desired the gel filled breast implants from receiving them.
As silicone gel breast implants have the potential for superior results in many women, he is pleased that the FDA is now allowing their wide spread use. Dr. Shuster is now educating women about these options during their personal consultations.
